Acacia Water attended an inspiring workshop in Nairobi last week with participants from UNICEF ESARO, UNICEF Office of Innovation, UNICEF Country Office Kenya / Somalia / Ethiopia / Angola, and Regional and National authority representatives of Kenya and Somalia. Together, we gained insights into key challenges for strengthening sustainable development of groundwater resources in Kenya and Somalia.
Acacia Water attended an inspiring workshop in Nairobi last week with participants from UNICEF ESARO, UNICEF Office of Innovation, UNICEF Country Office Kenya / Somalia / Ethiopia / Angola, and Regional and National authority representatives of Kenya and Somalia. Together, we gained insights into key challenges for strengthening sustainable development of groundwater resources in Kenya and Somalia.
We discussed ways to deploy an innovative methodology for groundwater mapping and borehole siting in 4 different countries: Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia and Angola. With this method, we aim to better identify groundwater potential and increase drilling success rates for sustainable borehole water supplies for communities in need.
Acacia Water is proud to lead the team of international experts from SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils s.a. (Belgium), @Earth Water Ltd (Kenya Gicheruh Chrysanthus), MS Consultancy PLC. (Ethiopia/Somalia), British Geological Survey (UK), along with the contribution of Dr. Seifu Kebede (South Africa). We are looking forward to visiting the field together with local experts and stakeholders to validate the first results!
