Acacia Water works in various projects on smart solutions, which are sustainable and practical, for water issues worldwide

IWRM Evaluation Tool to Enhance Water Security in Ethiopia
Twelve water interventions in the Tana Sub-Basin in Ethiopia are assessed using the IWRM Evaluation Tool developed by Acacia Water. Results are presented in the report “Investigating the Nexus of Water Supply Interventions (WSI) and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM): A Case Study of the Tana Sub-basin in the Amhara National Regional State”.
Groundwater mapping en IWRM in Borena and Jimma Zones in Ethiopia
In the past, many wells drilled in the area of this project were unsuccessful or gave less yield than expected. This was due to lack of proper hydrogeological and geophysical investigations. Acacia Water delivers (shallow) groundwater mapping and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) services as part of a REACH programme. This approach contributes to more successful drillings.
Underground storage of drinking water in Oman
Oman features a beautiful landscape in the middle of the Arab world. But in the sultanate, which comprises about 80% desert. Rainfall is limited and irregular, and the capacity of aquifers is under pressure. Water scarcity is therefore increasingly a problem. Aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) could provide a cost-effective solution to Oman’s water management needs.
