AcaciaWater has been on a mission to Wolaita Sodo in Ethiopia: by knowledge exchange and capacity building with private, governmental and educational organisations, we aim to contribute to improved water management. It is one of the activities we do at Acacia Water: providing educational support in water-related fields. During the project, we collaborated with staff of eight different technical agricultural colleges (ATVETs) to assist with the improvement of their courses on soil conservation and irrigation in the Bright Future for Agriculture NUFFIC project. In addition to developing skill sheets for irrigation and soil conservation, we demonstrated a soil moisture sensor, which they can use in their teaching programs to contribute to sustainable agriculture. The picture shows the very nice demo field at Wolaita Sodo ATVET used for all the soil conservation and irrigation practices. Looking forward to seeing the enthusiastic staff putting the training in practice!
