An important measure for combating heat stress is the realization of more greenery in urban areas. Due to climate change, evaporation through greenery will increase in the summer periods, while the groundwater levels may drop in dry periods. Acacia water has provided the Municipality of Leiden with insight into the risks of salinisation for public green spaces, for a current and future scenario.
