Wells and piping, a phenomenon in which sand layers in the dike function as underground waterways, are a risk to flood risk management in our country. This increases the risk of dike breaches during high water. In order to increase insight into the piping process, Acacia Water, together with the Rivierenland Water Board, investigated the behavior of groundwater in dykes.
