On the Dutch island of Texel, farmers depend on rainwater for their freshwater supply. In order to be able to irrigate crops during dry periods, farmers aim to be self-sufficient regarding fresh water. In the project ‘Zoete Toekomst Texel’, water is stored underground in order to achieve self-sufficiency.
