Acacia water

Applied Software Engineer (0,6 – 0,8 fte)

Acacia Water meets global water challenges with science-based and applied solutions. Our company is growing. As is the urgency for sustainable water management. Will you soon be joining our team and collaborate on our practical and proven solutions? Sharing data through digital tools, is our way to create awareness or facilitate decision making for sustainable solutions.

As Applied Software Engineer, you will work on digital tools that are used worldwide by governments, NGO's, private companies, water boards and public-private partnerships. You translate the advice and knowledge of our water experts into solid and useful web applications. If you also know how to maintain webservers - that is a big plus - or you are willing to learn such skills.

You bring your IT experience as well as a heart for impactful projects to improve access to water. Acacia’s work contributes to the lives of millions of people. We are driven by sustainability, we embrace open source and we always keep track of the human scale. Are you ready to join?

What will you be doing?

Our project portfolio includes groundwater exploration for water provision in urban and rural areas, innovative methods to control water use, water compensation projects for production companies and much more. You will be putting your talents into practice to contribute to the success of these projects.

You will be working closely with our water experts, creating innovative software products. There is much space to use your creativity. New digital tools need to be structured and designed. Existing tools need to be constantly updated and monitored. This is where we rely on your vision and talent. Since the world is becoming increasingly digital, your contribution is essential to keep up with technological advances.

Acacia Water has its own servers (Linux) in a datacenter, which need to be maintained. Ideally, this is something you aim to master as well. You understand the importance of data security and keep a close eye on their functioning. Possible vulnerabilities receive your attention. You act swiftly and know when to call for support.
